Finnius Teppett is a writer from Wellington. In 2016 he graduated from the IIML with an MA in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting), and was awarded the Michael Hirscheld scholarship. His play My Dad's Boy was awarded 'Highly Commended' for the 2016 Adam NZ Play Award, and also won an international playwrighting competition whcih saw it workshopped at the Against The Grain theatre festival in Buffalo, New York. My Dad's Boy opened Fortune Theatre's 2017 season.
He was the winner of the 2017 'Playwrights b4 25' competition, with his play Cannibal; and his show White Man Behind A Desk Live!, co-written with Robbie Nicol, was awarded 'Best Newcomer: Wellington' at the 2017 NZ Comedy Fest Awards, before a sell-out return season at Circa Theatre, and a tour to theatres in Auckland, Palmerston North, and Nelson. In 2017 he received NZFC 'Fresh Shorts' funding to produce his short film, Democracy.
