Elspeth Tilley

Elspeth’s short plays have won the British Theatre Challenge three times (Waiting for Go, 2017; Bunnies & Wolves, 2018; and Fabio the Great, 2019 – Fabio was also awarded ‘Best Play’ by audience vote at Pint Sized Plays New Zealand, 2019). Her first full-length work, World, was a finalist in the 2019 Fratti-Newman Political Play Contest (Castillo Theatre, New York City), and received equal-first-place in the 2019 Playwrights’ Association of New Zealand Long Play Contest. Elspeth has been an official playwright for Climate Change Theatre Action three times (2015, 2017, 2019) with her CCTA plays performed more than 50 times across Europe, Asia, North America and Oceania. She studied drama and literature at the University of Queensland in Australia, and teaches theatre and creativity at Massey University.
