Eloise and her mother are packing up their house so that they can move to a small apartment. Unfortunately this means that Ramona the Retriever, will have to go and live on Uncle Steve’s farm as there will not be room for her at the apartment.
When Eloise’s mother leaves to pick up the keys for the new apartment, Eloise wishes that she and Ramona could run away. This wish comes true, but not as they had hoped. They find themselves in a forest with mystical and terrifying creatures, and they have no clue as to how to get home – that is, what was their home.
