Two siblings return to run their old family dairy farm in Aotearoa New Zealand after the death of their mother. Knowing very little about industrial dairy farming (both siblings left home in their early 20s), they struggle to deal with the scale of their new challenge as well as the mounting debt left by their parents. Hina also discovers that she is pregnant at age 45 and the journey of her pregnancy coincides with the journey of their fraught endeavour to make the farm a success. For both siblings this is also a journey of discovery both of themselves and the natural environment.
