A collection of monologues, each exploring the reality of a different character living in the future that we are creating.
Intended for the Secondary School Drama classroom. They can be used as separate pieces or in conjunction with each other due to their thematic link. They can be treated as blank slates with the student challenged to decide the gender and age of the character. Students would also need to decide on what tone to bring to the piece with their drama techniques, whether that be a comic, sad or foreboding one. The monologues could also serve as starting points for characters in a devised piece of work. Or they could be a springboard for students to create their own monologues of other characters living in the future.
