Inspired by Plato’s famous Allegory of the Cave, the play tells the story of Solares, a once respected scholar of the subterranean community of the Cave who live in fear of the outside world and the many dangers it represents. Having ventured beyond the boundaries of the Cave twenty years ago in defiance of their most sacred law, he unexpectedly returns to the community in order to liberate them from ignorance.
