Touched with Fire

During the early 19th century, a young woman runs away from home to realise her dream of becoming a surgeon only to discover that the great advances in medical science have come at a very heavy price. A play inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and the real life story of William Burke and William Hare, this is a story about ambition and morality in an increasingly secular age.

Highly commended in Plays for the Young 2009 competition.
