Fool to Cry

On February 2nd, 1965, the Rolling Stones played a concert in Invercargill. It was a disaster. The crowd threw food and paper at the Stones who then stormed off after only three songs. After the show, Keith Richards uttered the infamous words “Invercargill is the arsehole of the world”.

Forty years later, during the renovation of the theatre, Mick Jagger's signature was found scratched into a wall. This made national headlines and prompted a re-enactment of the incident at the city's 150th anniversary concert.
