Clive Cockburn

Clive Cockburn is a New Zealand based Musician with a career spanning many years as a working musician, songwriter and composer working in the Film and Television industry. He studied composing and arranging in Los Angeles at the Grove School of Music.

He recorded three albums that included five top ten singles as lead guitarist and organist of the 60s group 'The Avengers'. He began devoting himself to soundtrack work in the early 80s, and his CV now runs to more than 60 television programmes, and 200 plus TV commercials.

In 2007 he composed the Rock Opera Boadicea: Celtic Warrior Queen, which was staged at the Monte Cristo Room in Auckland. Clive co-composed the musical Jenifer which was staged at the St James Theatre in Wellington, the Rock Opera Valdramar which was staged at Downstage Theatre, and he composed the television pantomime Pere. He also wrote and composed the score for The White Mouse.

Clive became the house arranger for the Rodger Fox Big Band with music on Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival. He was commissioned to compose for choir and symphony orchestra for the opening of the Auckland Opera House Aotea Centre at the request of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

Clive has written and produced two hundred video lessons of The Contemporary Music Course.
