Mum's Choir

Mum’s Choir is a story of laughter, singing and tears. The irrepressible family of a deceased matriarch reunite and discover they have less than three days to deliver the musical send off Mum would have wanted.

"Sadness prevails. Disputes surface. Laughter punctuates the gloom. Mum used to get them all to sing so it is only right and fitting that they sing Faure's Requiem at the funeral. But before that we, the audience, are treated to waves of musical nostalgia as the Andrews Sisters compete with Dean Martin and tears jostle with joy. This truly was one of the most moving and happiest of evenings. It put me in mind of Joyful and Triumphant spliced with Middle Age Spread. You heard it here first. This will become a classic of New Zealand theatre." Ralph McAllister - May 21st 2004
