This play is based on the true story of the amazing Arunachalam Muruganantham, an uneducated Indian slum dweller who was appalled when he discovered the health risks Indian women were subjecting themselves to because they couldn’t afford appropriate sanitary care.
He showed enormous courage, defying monolithic US corporations and enduring years of poverty, mockery and isolation in his Herculean, and finally successful mission to meet their needs - both in terms of health and employment.
Throughout his trials he lost neither conviction nor his extraordinary sense of humour.
