Auckland, second decade of the 21st century… At the Britomart Country Club, Britomart Precinct, two ex-St Cuthbert’s 18-year-olds mix with a Parnell celebrity event organiser, a South African professional polo player, a National Party cabinet minister, her husband a Gold Coast property developer, and a young, confused, drunken Technical Field Rep for PGG Wrightson’s. As the action shifts to the BMW NZ Polo Open finals at Clevedon, some of them become involved with a street-wise pair who share a flat in Eden Terrace looking out across the North Western motorway.
