Sugar, Spice and everything phat!
It’s Polyfest season and the two biggest, baddest, brownest schools battle it out for the top spot on the Samoan stage at the annual Auckland Secondary School’s Polyfest competition. We follow the journey of South Auckland Grammar School leader, Naisa and his number one enemy from West Side College, Penina who are both blinded by the same goal of winning the competition.
Behind the intricate dancing and spectacular harmonies lies stress, jealousy, heartbreak and baby oil.
Who will emerge victorious? Will it be Naisa and his group of shady friends who undermine his every decision, or will it be Penina and her dysfunctional group who can’t stand her over the top leadership. A colourful vibrant story that gives voice to Auckland’s Urban Pasifika Youth community and shines light on the biggest Pacific event on the Auckland Calendar – The Polyfest.
