Kathryn Burnett

Kathryn has worked in the television/film industry for 20 years and has significant television writing credits. She was the Executive Director of the New Zealand Writers Guild between 1997-2000 and the screenwriting tutor at South Seas Film and TV School between 2003 and 2007.

In addition, she is an in demand Script Consultant/Assessor and story editor who has worked with numerous writers and production companies. Kathryn produced her first play Mike & Virginia (co-written with Nick Ward) in 2011 as part of the International Comedy Festival and it was subsequently produced in Wellington at Circa Theatre (2013.)  Mike & Virginia won SWANZ Best Play in 2012. 

Kathryn currently has two feature film screenplays and a TV series in development and is writing on the second season of children's series Cul de Sac. When she isn't writing, Kathryn also works as a script consultant and recently worked on the short film Cradle which is a finalist in the 2016 NZIFF Best Short Film competition.
