Parry, Lorae
Lorae Parry is a writer, producer, director, actor and comedian who spent her early years in Australia. She attended the New Zealand Drama School in 1975 before working as an actor in theatres around the country.

On a trip abroad she co -wrote her first play Strip, which received a successful production in London and subsequently, in New Zealand. Together with Carmel McGlone she created the comedy sensations Digger and Nudger, who have been a feature of the Hens Teeth Women's Comedy seasons. She is well known for her comic impersonations of Prime Minister, Helen Clark.

In 1993 she was a founding member of W.O.P.P.A. - the Women's Professional Playwrights Association and to date two of her plays: Frontwomen and Cracks have been published by the Women's Play Press. Two others, Eugenia and Vagabonds have been published by Victoria University Press.  She has co-written 2 comedy scripts with Pinky Agnew.

In 1998 she was Writer in Residence at Victoria University. Eugenia has been studied as a text at Victoria since 1999. Lorae currently lives in London. Her play, Eugenia had a successful season at The Pacific Playhouse on London's South Bank in 2007.
