Dean Parker was born in Napier, New Zealand in 1947. He has:

Written quite a bit for stage (Baghdad, Baby!), a little for screen (Came A Hot Friday), quite a bit for television (Share The Dream) and a lot for radio (April 25).

Written occasional reviews, features, comment for Listener, New Zealand Herald.

Workmanlike right back for Halt All Racist Tours (HART) soccer team 1976-1986 (winners of Auckland Football Association Open Grade titles 1977-78, 1983-84) and then crafty manager 1987-1991.

Writers' Guild delegate to Federation of Labour / Council of Trade Unions through 1980s, 1990s.

Editorial board Saoirse, 1982-2000.

Lives in Ponsonby, Auckland.
