Hill, David
David Hill was born in Napier in 1942. After attending Napier Boys' High he studied at Victoria University in Wellington where he gained an MA (Hons) in 1963.
"He became a high school teacher and taught in both New Zealand and England, where he taught Princess Margaret's son everything he knows. He has also worked as a soldier, barman and van-driver. David has been a fulltime writer since 1982 and has written extensively for young people."
As well as his published work, he has written many stories and plays for journals and magazines both in New Zealand and internationally. He is the author of eight High School English textbooks and has had numerous stories and plays broadcast on Radio New Zealand. "
"His work for adults includes novels and published stories as well as columns and reviews for various newspapers. David has been published in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Denmark, Germany and Holland. David and his wife Beth now live in Taranaki. They have two adult children. David lists his hobbies as reading, tramping, travelling and cheering for the All-Blacks.
