Grant Estate, A.K.
"A.K. Grant deserted the law for writing. His column for the 'NZ Listener' and his scripts for television have made him one of the best known satirists in the country. With Philip Norman he wrote a celebratory revue for the Court's tenth anniversary, 'Court in the Act'. Together they also wrote 'Fresh Revolving Pleasures' which was a great success for the Court in 1981. He also wrote 'Sneers and Delusions' for the Court and has written the book 'The Paua and the Glory' with illustrations by Tom Scott. He is probably best known for writing the lyrics for 'Footrot Flats' and 'Love Off the Shelf'. He died in April, 2000."
