Playwrights' Retreat

Playwrights' Retreat   :   Aotearoa Playwrights' Conference

Deadline for applications, May 14th.  Ten lucky punters will be chosen to return to the beautiful Strathean in Otaki for 8  days between 19th - 26th July 2010. 

Once again we expect to be able to offer this opportunity free, and will explore the possibility of helping more far flung writers with travel costs. As before all food will be provided; you will all have your own room.  You won’t need to cook, clean, email, or organize. We aim to provide a quiet, distraction-free atmosphere so you can concentrate on your work.

Playwrights will be free to design their retreat week in any way they like; which can include bush walks or beach strolls, lolling in the beautiful garden, joining an evening meal get together each night, or low key evening readings of your work if that would help you.

TO APPLY:-

Describe the project you plan to work on. Please be as clear as possible in your application about what you hope to achieve during your time on retreat to help our selection process. We are expecting a large number of applications so please provide whatever material you feel will support your application best. Those with the most solid and interesting proposals will float to the top.(NB - you must be a kiwi or have permanent resident status to be eligible.)
