Flip The Script

Part of our Playmarket at The Edge programme - Auckland's Home of the New Zealand Playwright - this slap bang five minute playwriting competition is a great way to see how an audience ticks. For Auckland writers only, submit your play and if selected, see if performed a week later at The Edge!

Performances are a week later at Limelight, Aotea Centre THE EDGE in Auckland. Bring your friends and go wild! Performance dates for the rest of 2008 are at 9pm on:

26 September and 17 October.

You can write as many characters and locations as you wish but the play must be able to be performed by four actors. Anyone can enter but you must be able to attend the actual performance in Auckland (travel and accommodation not provided).

Flip the Script is ideal for new writers or those who want to see what makes an audience tick. At Flip the Script the audience get to vote on which scripts they want to see more of and the winners get to write 10 minute versions of their original script. Each month four scripts from those submitted are chosen to be performed. (Two will be chosen for the first round).
