A hui is being called for the Tāmaki Makaurau Māori Theatre community to gather kanohi ki te kanohi. The aim of this hui is to enhance the Auckland Māori Theatre community by setting out a plan for 2015 and seeking ways to become more co-ordinated, efficient and effective as a community and whānau. The Bruce Mason Playwriting Award was presented to Ralph McCubbin Howell at the Playmarket Accolades in Wellington on 23 November 2014.
The $10,000 cash prize recognises early success in the career of the winning playwright and is designed to encourage their continued exploration of the theatre medium.
