"Stayci Taylor has a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Otago, and an MA in Film, Television and Media Studies from the University of Auckland. ?As part of these degrees she has studied Introduction to Playwriting with Roger Hall, Advanced Playwriting with Simon O´Connor, Advanced Film and TV Writing with Hester Joyce and Advanced Writing: Documentary with Leanne Pooley. ?Stayci´s first ever commission came back in 1991 to write Scarfie Trek: The Search for Uhura´s Earring for the Otago University Capping Show. ?Since graduating from the John Bolton Theatre School in 1992 she has mostly participated in writing and devising collaborations including Drumhead that she has toured to festivals from Edinburgh to Christchurch with percussion-comedy trio The Rhonda Movement, and The Fatty and Pinhead Show co-written with Lucy Schmidt for the Vancouver Comedy and San Francisco Fringe Festivals. ?Her play Couch was selected by Playmarket for workshop at Tell Tale - the 2002 National Playwrights Forum Workshop Series and has since been produced for the acting graduates of NASDA in 2003. ?In 2004 she was on the writing team for the 48 Hour Film Festival´s winning short The Journey. Currently based in Auckland, Stayci is Head Writer on ??kina, a bi-lingual drama for Maori Televison."
