Welcome to New Zealand's Play Bookshop and Script Order Service. This is New Zealand's one-stop shop if you're looking for a published or unpublished New Zealand play. Here you can browse, purchase (with our new credit card gateway) or order on-line, including the latest new releases. You can also visit our bookshop at Level 2, 16 Cambridge Terrace, Wellington. 

So how do you purchase?

Take the time here to:

  • search by play or playwright

  • browse playwright profiles for titles

  • read synopses and other material (including a developing library of play extracts)

  • order on-line from anywhere in the world

Choose your title and process through your shopping basket.

Playmarket members should note that to receive their 10% discount they cannnot pay by credit card and need to press 'invoice' as they proceed thrtough checkout.

This is the only comprehensive place for access to New Zealand plays whether you're in Aotearoa or overseas.

Please note that the purchase of a script does not automatically mean it will be available for licence in your area, so you will still need to complete the application process if you wish to produce a script on stage.

NB esp. for TEACHERS - Many of our best plays have extremely flexible casts, and can stretch from 1 - 40 or more, so are easily adaptable to ANY class size.  We are currently updating our search facility to indicate these efficiently but in the meantime please direct enquiries to Katrina, agency@playmarket.org.nz.

YOUR PRIVACY


In order to keep you up to date with our titles, we will keep your details on file. Records are kept on our own computer and are totally secure. Any information we receive from you remains with us; we do not sell, trade or share the contents of our customer database with anyone outside Playmarket. Under no circumstances will we disclose or divulge your personal information to any third party, save such information as is deemed necessary to confirm or validate your chosen payment method.


RETURNS POLICY


If for some reason, the book(s) or playscript(s) we send you is/are not what you specified, and you return the item(s) to us in original condition within 21 days of dispatch, we will gladly arrange a refund or credit for the full price.


Please note: your postage costs to return the item(s) to us - along with our initial delivery costs for orders delivered outside New Zealand - are non-refundable.
