Director: Mark Amery
As Director, Mark has overall responsibility for Playmarket, including the Script Development Programme and the Agency. He is employed by and reports to the Executive. Before becoming Director, Mark was responsible for Playmarket’s Script Development department. Recent years have seen Mark working towards a more comprehensive national writer’s development programme, including instigating Playwrights Studios and Masterclasses, as well as day-to-day management of readings, workshops and labs. Prior to this he was Chair of the Playmarket board and is well known for his work in the media and the arts sectors as both a critic and a developer.

Agency Coordinator: Katrina Chandra
Katrina represents Playmarket’s client writers and is responsible for the negotiation and administration of licenses for stage and screen and the collection and distribution of royalties. She manages all professional, amateur and educational licensing of Playmarket’s titles. Katrina is also available to discuss playwright representation and options for producers wanting to license New Zealand plays.

Script Development: Jean Betts & Janie Walker
Both Jean and Janie have been involved in New Zealand theatre for many years in various capacities. Together they coordinate all script development programmes and administer script assessments and are available to advise playwrights on ‘how to’ and ‘where to next?’ with their plays.

Office Manager: Pania Stevenson
Pania is your first point of contact. She is responsible for all initial enquiries and the day-to-day running of the office as parts of which she manages our Playmarket membership program and our Bookshop. Pania also handles the financial ins and outs, invoices and payments as well as sponsorship for Playmarket’s various programmes and awards.
